The Longer Story Behind 701pub
Why the Philippines, why online gaming, and why we believe the timing is right.
Online gaming in the Philippines has grown significantly over the past decade, driven by smartphone adoption, improved mobile data infrastructure, and a population of fans with strong interest in both sports and casino entertainment. Filipino players are among the most digitally engaged in Southeast Asia, yet for a long time the platforms serving them were designed elsewhere with different markets in mind.
When a Filipino player in Cebu wanted to bet on a PBA game at halftime, the available platforms often required a desktop browser, a bank transfer that took hours to clear, and odds displayed in a format that didn't make intuitive sense in Philippine pesos. The experience was functional at best and frustrating most of the time. 701pub was built to replace that experience entirely.
We started by asking Filipino players what they actually wanted. The answers were consistent: local payment methods that work instantly, a mobile interface that doesn't need a tutorial, games they already know and enjoy, and customer support that responds in real time without generic script responses. Every feature in the 701pub product today traces back to one of those four priorities.
On responsible gaming: 701pub treats this as a real operating principle, not a checkbox. Every account has access to deposit caps, loss limits, and session time reminders from the moment of registration. We also provide full access to our Responsible Gaming policy, which includes guidance on recognising harmful habits and accessing professional support if needed.
The sports betting section reflects Filipino viewing habits rather than a generic international programme. When Manny Pacquiao-era boxing pride is still part of every generational conversation, offering credible boxing betting markets is obvious. When PBA attendance is regularly stronger than major international league games, building comprehensive PBA coverage is a priority — not an afterthought.
Football betting on 701pub covers the leagues Filipino fans follow most closely — European top flights, AFC competitions, and the growing domestic scene. Virtual Sports fills the gaps between live events, which matters particularly for players in remote areas where internet reliability can affect live streaming but doesn't affect the core betting experience.
We continue to add titles, markets, and payment options based on what the 701pub community requests. If there is a card game that Filipino households play on weekends that we don't yet offer in a digital format, that's a gap we want to close. If there is a basketball tournament that local fans follow closely but which we haven't covered adequately, we want to fix that too.
The growth of 701pub is ultimately tied to the satisfaction of its players. A player who loses confidence in the platform — whether because a withdrawal was delayed, because the odds felt opaque, or because a bonus had conditions buried in small print — is not a player who returns. The most sustainable version of this business is also the most honest version. We believe those two things align, and we run the platform accordingly.
